Essential Oils 101

059

Essential oils are volatile fluid of a plant that contain aromatic compounds used by the plant to bring oxygen and nutrients, while removing harmful toxins.  They also act as plant hormones to restore and maintain the plant’s normal function, helping the plant to fight off unwanted and harmful pests and toxins.  The good new is—they do the same for humans.  They are adaptogenic molecules, meaning that they adapt to bring balance and restoration to the body by acting as messengers to help coordinate and maintain vital body function.

Essential Oils have protective properties which are the plants natural defense mechanism that work the same in us and therefore have medicinal properties. They penetrate cell membranes and can diffuse throughout our blood and tissues.  These particles are one of the few things small enough to cross the blood brain barrier.

Essential oils are multi-dimensional, filled with homeostatic intelligence to restore the body to a state of healthy balance. When body conditions change, oils adapt,  stimulating or repressing enzyme activity as needed, energizing or relaxing as needed, and giving our bodies the compounds it needs to stay well.  Essential oils have the intelligence of a Creator who loves us and who created the plants and trees and shrubs we need, not only for food but also for cleansing and protection.

Essential oil molecules send information to cells and cleanse receptor sites so that they bring your body back to natural function. Oils are balancing to the body. Oils address the causes of disease at a cellular level by deleting misinformation and reprogramming correct information so that cells function properly and in harmony with one another.  Because essential oils properly applied always work toward the restoration of proper bodily function, they do not cause undesirable side effects. They are feeding the body with what it needs to heal itself.

One of the most powerful properties of essential oils is that they are small enough to  cross the blood brain barrier and are able to have a wonderful, balancing effect on our emotions.  Our sense of smell in inextricably intertwined with our memory and emotions and essential oils can play an integral part in healing painful emotional experiences, which makes these oils uniquely able to heal us from the inside out because of the key role emotions can often play in illness.

The molecules that make up essential oils are so tiny that one drop can contain up to 40 million-trillion molecules.  That’s enough to cover every cell in our bodies with 400,000 tiny molecules. Because of their size they are easily absorbed through the skin and are able to communicate directly with our DNA to affect the function of our cells from its control center.  Many modern medications are based on plant-based compounds that are then synthesized in a lab and mass produced.  Essential oils are so complex that they cannot be reproduced in the finest lab in the world.  In other words, God has gifted us with plants to help heal us and we have never been able to replicate His care and design.

Modern medicine has its place and is especially good at emergent and intensive care but modern medicine is mostly about sick care.  Essential oils bridge the gap to provide incredible and life-giving wellness, keeping us happier and healthier than any synthetic alternative.

How They Are Extracted

Therapeutic grade essential oils must be careful extracted from plants grown in organic soil under the right environment so that all the right constituents are present.  They must be distilled at low pressure and low temperature using steam distillation to keep their healing properties intact.

Young Living is the world leader in essential oil distillation.

They have a revolutionary process called Seed to Seal which guarantees the purest, most potent oils possible.

    Edie,
Can you refer me to informationthat explains how the oils “read” what is needed by the body/cells & “reprogram”? I have a medical background.
    Thank you!
